Achievements

The following are the major achievements of Gramin Vikas Samiti:

Nine grain banks established with total capacity to store 23 quintals of grains
130 Plantations in 15 villages
76 Goats given to 76 women in as many families
Leadership training to 1,000 youths
29 Dalit Mahila Manch (Dalit Women Forum) formed at gram panchayat level
One tailoring centre for school dropout girls, benefitting 350 girls so far
One coaching center for children, benefitting 150 children
One Lok Adhikar Manch (People’s Rights Forum) formed. This is a district level organisation of 2,000 women and is engaged in advocacy at block, district, state and national levels
20 Women literacy centres formed, benefitting 200 women
One library with reading room containing 4,570 books set up
Five women farmers clubs, with combined membership of 110 women formed
210 insitutional deliveries facilitated
